We’ve already known that Asus was preparing a 7-inch Nexus tablet for a few weeks now, but this seems to just confirm it even further. Two photos that have apparently been taken with a Nexus tablet have surfaced on Google+ user Somit Bh. The 1280 x 960 pictures were also geo-tagged, and the geo-location data seem to direct the pictures being taken in Google’s Building 44. The Verge points out that although this EXIF data could have been easily faked, a lot of people are involved in Somit Bh’s Google+ circles, which could prove that the data is real.
Asus told us earlier in the month that the tablet would be going on sale for a retail price between $149-$199, which is extremely pleasing considering it won’t be tied to any carrier contracts. Although I prefer a tablet with a larger screen size, I will definitely pick one of these up when it launches, simply it’s a Nexus tablet and it won’t empty my wallet. And with Google I/O just around the corner, what better time to announce the next Nexus device?
