Just yesterday we reported that the Nexus tablet EXIF Data had leaked on Picasa, and today we have some more news. According to Digitimes‘s sources, the Nexus tablet has already started shipping and will hopefully be available for purchase sometime in July at a price point of $199.
Google is expected to announce the new Nexus tablet at Google I/O, as well as availability and pricing. Asustek Chairman Jonney Shih will also be at the conference as well to oversee the product announcement. The tablet is expected to only have Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as only a Front Facing Camera, meaning that cellular data and back camera support will not be present in the new Nexus tablet. This is a consequence of the extremely low tablet price, which will hopefully bring more consumers onto Android’s wildly popular platform.
Asus also has plans to release its own 7-inch tablet sometime in August, with a price point between $159-179.
