Back in March we found an unofficial VLC Media Player app being created from scratch by XDA member adridu59. We released the information and a link to the thread for the most current beta version. It was a big hit, and has since been updated yet again on June 13th. You guys might want to check that out at adridu59′s thread when you get a chance. At the time, this was one of the better options for an Android version of VLC Media Player since the official company behind it had not created or released an official build. That is all about to change though. We don’t know when it is coming, but you know there is an official VLC Media Player on the way.  Just yesterday the VideoLAN twitter account dropped 4 simple worlds that made a lot of people smile.

This is pretty exciting news for a lot of you that know and use VLC on a regular basis already. It is an extremely awesome and powerful media player that has been and always is free for users to download and install. I know it is one of my favorites. We will be on the look out for more information and an official release of the application.
