We know, our app was outdated. it served a purpose and served it well. As Android evolves, so must the apps that we use. Let me be the first to tell you, it has been a long 11 months for us. First things first, we want to thanks all of you with encouraging words, all that have and continue to follow us and all that support the site and the ManDroid Show. The last 6 months or so have been the hardest on us and with out you guys, we probably would have fallen off the face of the earth… So thank you from myself and from the entire crew and staff of AndroidSPIN.

On to the goodies. Some of you may have noticed that we have fixed a TON of slow ass server BS that we were experiencing. We love hackers, except when they hack into our site and ruin our lives. Karma will get them. Second, we have redone the forums. There is still a lot of work to be done and it is getting there thanks to a great new team that we gave control too. Many of which are names some of you may know like Tx Redneck  and flappjaxxx. Check out the forums for other names like Eugene373, B-boy™ and ThaPHLASH. For those of you looking for a new home, or even a second home, you have the opportunity to bring your work to AndroidSPIN. The developer side of things gives you all access and full moderator rights to all your work plus the ability to control comments and keep the riff raff to a minimum without waiting on some other moderator to handle it for you. Come visit and let us know what you want and need by answering some questions through the developer sign-up page.

OK. Now that some of the particulars are out-of-the-way, how about checking out the newly rebuild AndroidSPIN app? We have been checking it out and testing it over the last few weeks and we felt it finally was good enough to push out to the public. Don’t worry, we are still working on it and would love feed back and even some help on a future update. We definitely need to thank flappjaxxx for making it how it is today.

What do you get? Well, you get a whole lot at the tip of your fingers. There are currently four tabs to choose from; News, Forums, ROM’s and Chat. Obviously the first tab is a mobile feed of our website for your viewing pleasure. Forums is the mobile version of the AndroidSPIN forums, which is getting larger by the day. We will skip the ROM’s section for just a second. The fourth tab is a chat. Yes, it is an active chat integrated application for all Aspin users to sign in to. Periodically the AndroidSPIN team will pop in and do some chatting along with various developers. You can get some personal help, some cheap entertainment and have a little fun at the same time. Along with the mobile chat session, you can also sign in on the web via this CHAT LINK. Giving you a way to communicate and talk with AndroidSPINians from around the globe. Pretty cool right? We think so.

  The third is a bit of an oddity. Everyone should know what a ROM is. It is the custom build Android version that developers, hackers and modders build that are better, faster and often times newer than what the carrier or manufacturer offers. AndroidSPIN originally started as a ROM data base for the T-Mobile G1. It expanded as more devices were launched and eventually became the blog that you currently visit for news and other Android info, it had to be split. So we currently operate AndroidSPIN.com and CommunityRelease.com. Did you know that?? Not many do. The ROMS tab is a direct connection to the latest ROM’s for devices that are maintained by us and by the developers. We keep it simple, clean and easy to use and follow. You are able to sign up and follow specific devices or specific developers. When that developer makes an update or there is something new for that device, you get an email alert. Pretty idiot proof. Much of that is maintained by us, but as devs come on board, you will be better informed of updates without having to check XDA or Rootzwiki to see if they fixed an issue you had for a week. We hope more devs like Flappjaxxx and others sign up and in. It really is a great resource for developers to have at their disposal.

So now you know a little bit about us, a little bit about what the app entails and I am certain, a little bit about things we do that you didn’t know.
