Office Depot shows Transformer Prime Infinity in stock, days before official release

4

In the CES season, Asus was able to shed some light on their latest, and most upcoming product, the Transformer Prime Infinity. It’s advanced HD display proved itself as fierce competition towards Apple’s iPad, in which consumers were hoping for a “mid-July” release.

And thankfully, Asus acknowledged the pride and passion in its customers, to start shipping out the Infinity on the initial date, July 16. However, Office Depot kind of dropped the ball, in more of a confidential way. The employees managing Office Depot’s website essentially said, “what the hell?!” and displayed the Infinity, ready to order days before release.

This is pleasing for customers, but there is always one retailer to screw the deadline cycle up. Hopefully this is not a mistake, and if it isn’t, you could be getting your tablet sooner than others! And perhaps this is Office Depot’s reconciliation towards their cancellation of selling the Nexus 7.

But besides the point, the Transformer Prime Infinity will have delightful specs, including:

  • A quad-core processor
  • Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Better wireless capability
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • And 32GB of “on-board” storage memory

Not to shabby, I will say. At a price tag of $499, a tablet like this should sport “top-of-the-line” hardware, and will possibly keep tablet competitors from bragging about their new, “Retina display”. You know who we are talking about.

What do you think of Asus’s new pride and joy? Do you think Jelly Bean should have been supported in the software build? And will Office Depot fulfill these “early orders”? I would love to hear your comments.

It’s at Adorama and NewEgg already as well. And maybe we’ll see Amazon, Fry’s, Best Buy, etc. jump on board tomorrow.
