Besides the assistance with the innovation of customs ROM’s and third-party software, the Motorola Xoom has only, “just recently” received 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Prior to the official OTA (Over the Air Update), it took quite a while for the soak test to result in a final build.
Hopefully, this will change the “second time around”. Reports suggest that certain customers, majority being employees, have been receiving their exclusive invitation, for running 4.1 Jelly Bean on the Motorola Xoom.
Specifically those members of the Motorola Network, that also own a “Wi-Fi-only” version, will be receiving this special treat. It is kind of nice to see revolving updates for the “late” Xoom, as it has been years since primary production.
Neither Motorola or Google have confirmed that staff members have gotten the Jelly Bean update, but you know how manufacturers like to keep things…well… “hush-hush”. And perhaps with this exclusive update, we may be seeing “top-of-the-line” ROM’s, in the near future.
With ICS already on your Motorola Xoom, would you trade up for 4.1 Jelly Bean? If you are apart of the soak test, mind sharing some info with us at AndroidSPIN? I would love to hear your comments.

This is a soke test for US WiFi Xooms. But the 4.0.3/4 update has been out since December 2011. Google only pushes to Wingray variants directly (as a pseudo Nexus device).
Depends. Verizon did not push the majority of ICS until a few weeks ago. Different areas received it at different times.
