If you are not familiar with the app, “SlingPlayer”, essentially what it does is connect to your SlingBox at home, which can broadcast live TV shows on your cable/ satellite box, directly to your phone wirelessly. Though that may sound pretty snazzy, there have always been some “negative remarks” towards the app and its price.
Normally, the app costs a whopping $30.00! Which, in the mobile application world, is like buying a Ferrari. Buy luckily, for the past few days Sling Media has given us Android users a break, and cut off the price by 50%.
Now the application is $15, but remember you still have to pay for the Slingbox accessory itself and connect it to your TV. That itself costs around $150.
And the good sign of this bargain, is that the discount goes towards both versions of the app. Including the phone and tablet optimized apps.
The company still has not developed the capability of 4G connectivity, but is available through both 3G and Wi-Fi connections. You can find the app in the Google Play Store, as well as easily scanning the QR code below.
What do you think of the discount? Will this provoke you to buy a Slingbox product? I would love to hear your comments.
