Madfinger explains why they made Dead Trigger free in recent Update

4

When we first hear there was an update to Dead Trigger on the way that was going to bring oodles of new goodies we were extremely excited. We are sure many of you were. The game was great as is but why not add more zombies, weapons and gadgets? When Madfinger released the update they also took away the $0.99 price tag and made the game free. Needless to say some people who paid their dollar to have the game got rather upset about this fact. Madfinger had a reason for changing the price, and really good one at that. What mite that reason be, the excessive amount of people who chose to pirate the app over spending a buck to buy it.

Regarding price drop. HERE is our statement. The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high. At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible – that’s why it was for as little as buck. – It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn’t dare to provide it for free, since we hadn’t got XP with free-to-play format so far. – However, even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free. Anyway – DEAD TRIGGER is not FREEMIUM, it always was and still remains FREE-TO-PLAY, that means, all players are able to play it without IAP! We stand up for this statement, because all members of our team are playing (and enjoying) DEAD TRIGGER without IAP.

As you read, Dead Trigger is completely playable and beatable without ever having to spend a dime on in app purchases (IAP). At only a buck they figured that they could make a little money on the game they created for us since they also knew that you wouldn’t have to actually buy anything in the game to play, progress or beat the game. So for those of you that are pointing the finger at Madfinger, you should take a step back and realize why it now became free and point your finger at those thieving pirates why couldn’t sacrifice an egg mcmuffin to buy the game. Consider your dollar spent being a donation for a great a game by some great developers.

Personally, free or a buck, it is one game you all should have installed on your device.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

i love this game been playing it regularly. for the people that complain about the IAP u dont even need it. i havent even spent a dime for any IAP, i actually prefer it this way cuz its kinda cheating if u do the IAP and the point of the game is to challenge u not to make it easy but damn the latest update made it harder cuz of those stupid swat zombies with the iron protection and the zombies come at u even faster.
