You should all already know that CyanogenMOD ROM’s are one the most highly customizable ROM’s to ever grace our devices. Sure, AOKP and others are offering up some great ways to alter things and give us a more personal look and feel, but CM is really where it all started. One of the greatest things that always stands out in my mind about CM was the theme engine. The ability to snag a new theme from the Play Store or a file from the depths of the forums, install it and apply it quickly and easily. It was one thing the CM9 lacked for a short period of time and something that everyone wants to see on CM10. Good news hasjust surfaced on that front, looks like the theme engine is already running on CM10. Take a quick little look thanks to Ricardo Cerqueira.
When will it get introduced? Not sure, especially since CM10 is currently only out in a preview build, we would say it will be added when it hits nightlies. The next question will be if CM9 themes will be compatible with CM10. Judging from the video it looks like they should be. Until we get some sort of official word though we won’t say yes.
Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
The theme engine is already present in the Galaxy S3 preview build…I’m on the Sprint variant. CM9 themes are indeed compatible.
