Samsung’s ChatON application gets updated with the new “Olympic buddy” feature

The success of social applications grows more than any other application category in the Google Play Store, and for every mobile platform for that matter. We constantly want to know what people are doing, what they are doing later, and what occurred throughout the week.

We even have automatic notifications to alert us when someone updates their status, so we can be quick to respond. And even though that it may seem like this digital sharing is eating up “real” social communication, Samsung’s ChatOn app allows multi-user connectivity and a variety of other features to make you feel “right at home”.

In the new update, they have offered:

  • Theme changing
  • Walkie-Talkie
  • Image zooming
  • And conversational status

One more important feature was that since the Olympics is happening at this moment in time, why not add Olympic sharing and messaging features to talk about the latest winners and stats? The sponsor has added that support, as well as news updates for top competitors. ChatON is currently available for Android, iOS, and Blackberry users.

What do you think if the updates to this social app? Do you think Samsung is trying to “out-do” the competition, with their leverage as a sponser for the Olympics? I would love to hear your comments.
