I myself prefer console gaming over mobile play. Good-old-fashion, sitting at home laziness. But with a lot of the newer tablets and phones, like the Galaxy S III and Transformer Prime Infinity, it is sort of changing the my mind, as well as others interested in playing “on-the-go”.
To compete with leaders in the tablet world like Asus, a new company called Wikipad is introducing a new product, which is also known as the “Wikipad”. Now I have to admit that the name isn’t really “exciting”, but once you take a look at the specs for this gaming tablet, you will want to grab one yourself.
The specs for the Wikipad include:
- An 1.4GHz NVIDIA Tegra T30, quad-core processor
- 1GB of DDR2 RAM
- 10.1 inch IPS display, at a resolution of 1280×800
- A 8MP rear, and 2MP front-facing camera
- Controller add-on
- And Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
The coolest thing about this tablet is not only the brand new processor, but rather the game controller that is added. We do not see too many “game-specified” devices which have the compatibility for an external controller, so this will definitely make gaming a bit easier and a lot more fun.
Another sweet addition, is the fact that the sound from the speakers, is transported to the front of the tablet, for enhanced sound quality. Now if you didn’t think any of those features were nice to have, you might want to wait a few months, because the company is talking about a “3D” version for even more intense gaming sessions
What do you think of the Wikipad? Could this replace your home console? I would love to hear your comments.
