[Video] Man Falls on Subway Tracks While Talking on his Phone. New Laws to Come About?

11

This can be put under the “random” category in articles that we post, but I thought I would talk about it. Seems that a man in Philadelphia  was talking on phone, when he lost his footing and fell onto some subway tracks. Now this happened last year, but they are finally releasing the footage from the security cameras. The man was lucky, because it was very late at night so no trains passed through. That being said, he was also lying on the tracks unconscious and no one was around the help him. Eventually he woke up and crawled out of his subway tomb. My guess is that he broke his phone.

Now the reason I am writing this post, is because with stupidly like this, the government just might start enforcing laws about walking and using a cell phone. It is already illegal to do anything on your phone while driving, but now it just might be enforced if you are doing the simple task of “one foot in front of the other”. It is sad that someone can get so distracted with a phone call that they cannot see a huge gap in the ground, right in front of them. Now I have had my random times where I have bumped into someone while sending a text, but I  do not think I would ever walk over the edge of platform in a Willie Coyote fashion.

Of course there has been other footage that you can find on YouTube where people have walked into random things while talking or texting on their phone. It is sad that are phones do really run are lives, and can distract us just enough to make us not even aware of our own surroundings. I am just worried that they are going to start enforcing laws for us not to use are phones while we walk. That will just be ridiculous, but I fear that is where we are heading. Check out the video below and let us know what you guys think.

Lmao… I highly doubt it would go that far to ban walking and talking (in the military u really can’t but that never stopped me) with that said you are right and as a New Yorker I hate when people cross the street while on the phone and not looking, but I love that look on there face when I don’t stop

      Interesting !

A few generations ago, we all gave each other nods or smiles to others whom we meet everyday in our lives on the streets…..NOW, we ignore people because were afraid of getting emotional attached and becoming responsible for another persons stupidity.

As an example here….Your walking among hundreds of other human beings in a crowded city street, You see someone whom you made eye contact with and you smile, 15sec later you hear a crash and people screaming, You run to investigate and you see the person laying in a pool of blood on the crosswalk, hit by a cab. This is the same person that you smiled and made eye contact with 15sec ago ! Now you feel remorse or sick that he’s dead and it could have been you or anyone else you passed in the streets.

Now, you have to deal with a case of PTSD ! Go figure !

Oh, and btw, he was hit by the cab because he was DISTRACTED by his stupid smartphone !

Oh well, maybe he was trying to tell his wife that he ‘s going to be late coming home when in reality he’s going to be late because he’s shagging his secretary .

      Score = 1 for smartphones
      0 for human beings.

I saw this clip on wilsontech1.There shouldn’t be any laws to stop people using their phone in the subway. It was that person’s fault not the phone

As if there aren’t enough LAWS now that try to prevent STUPIDITY among people who are STUPID !

LAWS that get passed and are written out are just DETERRENTS to prevent people from committing a crime but it doesn’t work, now does it ?

We have LAWS that say it’s against the LAW to kill people but we all know that’s not going to happen anytime soon, now don’t we ?

damn i was hoping there was a train coming

Plenty of states have driving while distracted laws that also cover doing things other than using a cell phone while driving ie reading a map, applying makeup etc. Would be funny, scary, and sad to see this applied to walking.

this would be stupid for the government to get involved, of course that hasnt stopped them from times before over non sense shit. This is your own dumbass fault, anyone could see a end of the sidewalk there.

This type of Stupidity doesn’t only apply using smartphone’s while walking now, OH NO !

It applies to using a smartphone while driving too ! It’s called ROAD-RAGE !

I think there are 2 different forms of Road Rage, Directly and Indirectly.

Indirectly= is where a innocently motorist drives along next to a person who is acting Upset and is getting very Angry while driving and you seem to be his target to vent his anger on !
(as in most cases, a man is getting very upset for not getting any pootang. :)

Directly= is where you cut off someone who is talking on a cellphone and he get’s angry at you for cutting him off ! Or maybe, you gave him the finger, right ?
