Google brings 130 smaller US cities to live traffic feature plus expansion and international Locations

Google Maps is quite possibly the single greatest application that I use when ever I leave town. When I am headed somewhere I want to get there, especially if I don’t know where there is. But a struggle that can get under our skins and delay our trips is traffic. That’s where the live traffic option in maps can be extremely helpful, but has been pretty limited to your much larger metropolitan cities. That starts to change today though.

Google’s Lat Long blog today announced that they have updated the live traffic feeds to include 130 smaller cities across the U.S. Cities such as Kalamazoo MI, Portland ME and Tuscaloosa, AL to list the few that Google offered up.

Along with the new cities in the U.S., they have also added live traffic for the capitals of Colombia, Costa Rica, and Panama. They have also expanded their coverage in Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. To get a bird’s eye view of all the traffic feeds and locations, visit this Google Maps link on your PC.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

yep, added more roads around me, this service if you never used it, will get you out of a jam in no time, along as you have a good data connection to load it up. Details about wrecks and construction. Used it a handful of times. Glad to see more roads added. Also you can add the layer in navigation mode. Now only if google would re-direct you when it sees a jam up ahead….
