Alright Google Plussers. Finally a much-needed update has hit the beloved Android app of Google+. Not only have they improved the app itself, but now page owners can view, post and comment from their mobile device. This is huge if you have a fan page on Google+.
Something that you cannot even do on the Facebook app. (yes you can actually. We might also add that it is easier and doesn’t require any loging out and back in either.) Being that I partially handle our websites page and fully handle The ManDroid Show’s page, this will come in handy for when I am out and about. Here is a list of all the changes that come with this version:
- Google+ page owners can view, post and comment from mobile
- Discover people and topics more easily using ‘Find people’
- Access photos from posts with 1-click
- New Home screen Widget re-design
Small update: We went a head and pushed out the update information while our devices were updating. We then sat here looking all over the place for where to change from our personal G+ accounts, to our pages that we also manage. Guess what? You can’t! Instead, you have to sign out and then sign back in into Google+. When you sign in you will see the pages and can choose ONE page to use. So, every time you want to manage another page or check in on another page you have to sign out first, then sign back in. While the ability is nice, the approach is not so nice. Don’t get me wrong, we will take it. It would have been a lot more convenient to be able to hit a tab and switch though.
