Isis Mobile Wallet app goes live in the Play Store for T-Mobile, still a bit Early

You all know what Isis Mobile Wallet is right? It is the mobile wallet payment thingy that Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are planning to launch instead of just going with Google Wallet. It has been in the works for sometime. It lets you set up existing American Express, Chase or Capitol One credits cards. You can also toss all your retail store loyalty cards to it. We have been watching and waiting for the carriers to finally release Isis to market, but haven’t heard much lately. Until now that is.

It looks like T-Mobile got a little ahead of themselves and put the app in the Play Store yesterday. It is free for all who wish to install it, but it won’t do anyone a darn bit of good just yet. Having a Galaxy S III and knowing that it is one of the supported devices, I had hoped that I could at least play about inside the app. Even though I am not rooted yet, it still wouldn’t let me do a darn thing. I did snag a few screenshots of what it told me though.

There were a few pretty comical lines in the text. Like, “The Isis Wallet will not operate on phones where unusual root access privileges have been set” and the part about contacting your provider to pick up a compatible device. How nice of them. I am sure it would trigger through and work for me if I had one of their special Isis SIM cards that we will all have to have. No matter. Here are a few more screenshots of the app that were provided in the Play Store for you to have a small little look.

Additional screenshots from Tmonews shows T-Mobiles pilot will begin on October 22nd in Salt Lake City, Utah and Austin, Texas. That would go perfectly with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note II and would be another great application that these guys could have preloaded to those devices. In addition to the app being released about a week early, they also dug up another screenshot offering up a $25 credit for activating Isis Wallet.

Of course there are certain stipulations in place. Like you only get 10$ for activating Isis and $15 if you convert the Isis cash card to a reloadable prepaid card. We will get all the real details out for you all once we get our hands on them.

If you want to go check it out in the Play Store you are free to do so, you will only get those three screens that I shared above though.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
