Sony announces, 2012 devices will receive 4.1 Jelly Bean in 2013

I haven’t been the one to choose Sony-made phones. In fact, I have never owned a Sony branded smartphone. But those who carry the popular name really appreciate their devices, thanks to the beloved Xperia series.

Though that “most” of the Sony products on the market are solidly built, the manufacturer has been notoriously known to push out updates in a “slow and steady wins the race”, manner. To backup that info, the company has stated that they will not officially send updates to devices that were released in 2012, till’ next year!

That is a long wait for Android’s greatest and tastiest software ever. To dig an even deeper hole, users who own a Sony smartphone from 2011 and earlier won’t even receive the update, a little harsh for good business. But what do you expect. Sony wants to sell their new lineup of devices and to do so, will “cut of ties” to the outdated, but still remembered smartphones.
