New Samsung Google Chromebook shows its face in the Play Store

The Play Store is getting quite the wide selection of devices listed for people to buy. Of course there is the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 7, but now we also have the ability to pick up a new Samsung Google Chromebook as well. The Wi-Fi only Chromebook was just recently announced by Samsung just last week. The price tag mentioned last week of $249 did carry over to the Play Store. Don’t forget, if you live in a taxable state, then it will cost you a little bit more. Man do I love Oregon.

Chromebook spec rundown

  • 11.6-inch HD display at 1366 x 768
  • Samsung Exynos 5 Dual
  • 2 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 16 GB Solid State Drive
  • 1 x USB 3.0
  • 1 x USB 2.0
  • 1 x HDMI
  • Secure Digital (SD) card reader
  • 100 GB of Google Drive Cloud Storage for 2 years
  • 12 free sessions of GoGo® Inflight Internet

It isn’t designed to be a super computer that rivals the Pentagon. It is designed for ease of use, functionality and connect-ability. Heck, even my Grandma could use one of these without me having to walk her through where the internet is again. That is  the marketing strategy behind them obviously with the commercial that was released and of course the tag line, “For Everyone.”

It is light, it has what sounds like a good looking screen and plenty of power for any average user on the planet. Google really is starting to aim at getting hardware into the hands of users for a price they can actually afford without losing their house.

If you are interested in picking one up then point your browser over to the device section of the Play Store. You can’t order one right now, but you can sign up to be notified.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
