ASUS Padfone Infinity
You just got a look at the new Fonepad from ASUS, their latest 7-inch tablet that doubles as a phone if you want it too. Next up is the ASUS Padfone. Are you confused yet? We can see how many people will be. The Padfone is a little different from the Fonepad. The Padfone is a Phone that docks into the tablet to give the best of both worlds with one device.

The Padfone Infinity phone device sports a 5-inch HD phone with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It offers up 441 PPI. Inside you will find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, the same one found in the HTC One device. It is clocked at 1.7GHz. There is a 13Mp f/2.0 camera built-in that also takes 1080p HD video at 30 frames per-second.  Memory wise, you are looking at two choices, a 32GB or a 64GB version. Battery wise ASUS puts out a claim of 19 hours of talk time.

When docked, you get a full 10.1 HD tablet experience at 1920 x 1200 resolution. The tablet has its own 5,000mAh battery built inside, a 1MP front facing camera, 4G Lte, GPS and more. With the battery in the tablet when the phone is docked you are looking at a whopping 41 hours of talk time on the go.

The press release talks of a launch in Taiwan in April with the 64GB model retailing at €999. Other select countries will see a release in early Q2 of 2013. Pricing will change per country of course. No specific mention of a U.S. availability, but we sure as heck hope it happens. Below you can see the official press event video, a brief hands on video and the official press release from ASUS. for seamless mobile flexibility

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain (25th February, 2013) — ASUS today announced PadFone™ Infinity, a powerful LTE smartphone with a sleek metallic design and a 5-inch Full HD display that becomes a 10.1-inch tablet when docked to its companion PadFone™ Infinity Station. PadFone™ Infinity features Android 4.2 and groundbreaking mobile performance, thanks to its next-generation Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 processor with quad-core CPU and up to 19 hours of 3G talk time.
“PadFone™ Infinity is the latest evolution of our PadFone™ line,” said Jonney Shih, ASUS Chairman. “It combines incredible design with an uncompromised user experience derived from our Design Thinking philosophy.”

Premium design with premium performance
With a slender unibody design crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum, ASUS PadFone™ Infinity is both beautiful and durable. The 5-inch screen features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution with an extraordinary 441 pixels-per-inch for text so crisp it looks like a printed page, and wonderfully detailed high-resolution images. 64GB of storage complements the class-leading Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 1.7GHz processor with quad-core CPU for a smooth and responsive premium Android experience, while 100Mbit/s LTE and 42Mbit/s DC-HSPA+ ensure super-fast web browsing and downloads.
ASUS PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity features a high-performance 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 five-element lens that captures incredibly detailed images, with no shutter lag. A dedicated image signal-processor enhances low-light image quality and enables PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity to capture up to 100 sequential photos at eight frames-per-second, while simultaneously recording 1080p Full HD video. PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity can also output 1080p Full HD video via its Micro-USB-compatible MyDP port.

Share apps and mobile data instantly
The unique two-in-one nature of ASUS PadFoneâ„¢ removes the tedious need to synchronize data between smartphone and tablet. Data and settings on PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity are available instantly on PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity Station upon docking and running apps are smoothly reformatted to fit the larger display. Mobile data bills are also reduced, since a single data plan can be shared between both devices.
PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity comes with new and exclusive ASUS apps, including SuperNote 3.1 for note taking, Story for creating stunning photo albums and ASUS Echo for voice control of PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity.
PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity has up to 19 hours of 3G talk time, which increases to up to 40 hours when docked into PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity Station. PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity Station also has sufficient battery capacity to fully recharge the docked PadFoneâ„¢ Infinity up to three times.
