For the last week or so, there have been rumours of a Samsung Galaxy S4 being benchmarked with a Snapdragon 800 chip. We also know that LTE-Advanced is an impending eventuality, and we knew Samsung, being ever the pursuant of cutting-edge technology, would most likely be on top of these two technological developments.
Today, CEO of Samsung, J.K. Shin confirmed in an interview with Reuters that they are working on a Galaxy S4 variant that will be capable of 4G over LTE-Advanced networks, allowing data speeds of twice that of normal 4G.
This development confirms that this variant will have to use a Qualcomm chip, and that makes a Snapdragon 800 variant of the Galaxy S4 even more plausible. Either way, faster internet is on its way to our palms very soon, all we have to do now is wait for 5G and hope batteries get better really quick.
