LG G2 Will Officially Be The Optimus G’s Successor

lg g2LG has finally put months of rumours and speculation to rest by officially naming the G2 as the successor to its Optimus G. You might notice that the name of the device is just the G2, not the Optimus G2; LG is effectively scrapping the ‘Optimus’ tag in favour of adopting the ‘G’ nomenclature for its premium line of smartphones.

LG also says in its press release that it will also be naming its 4:3 display phones under the ‘Vu’ brand, suggesting that it will be bringing 4:3 devices to market in the near future. I think this naming system is a little more confusing without the Optimus tag, which I think many of us had become quite accustomed with, but that’s just what I think.

What do you think of this new naming system? And are you interested in getting a LG G2? Let us know in the comments.
