When the Nexus 6P was announced in September last year, it was said to be available in four colours: Aluminium, Graphite, Frost and Gold. For whatever reason, however, only three of the colours were available to most of the world with the Gold variant of the Nexus 6P singled out for Japan. Why that was we may never know, but if you’ve been holding out for a Nexus 6P in Matte Gold before you buy, you’ll be happy to know that your wait is now over – if you live in the US.

Announced yesterday, Huawei and Google have made the Nexus 6P in Matte Gold available in the US, though we have no indication on when availability might extend beyond just the US. The pricing remains the same for the Gold version ($499 USD), though it appears that it will only be available in 32GB and the $549 USD 64GB version – the 128GB version is currently AWOL. For a gold version of a smartphone, the Gold Nexus 6P actually looks pretty good – then again, my opinion is that all the colour options for the Nexus 6P look pretty good.
