HP was rumored to be working on tablets running multiple operating systems and we are learning now, that HP might have shelved the Android tablet.

“Hewlett Packard is working on a variety of tablet PCs, running a variety of operating systems. Among them, an Android device that was supposed to arrive at market in the fourth quarter of 2010. But no longer. Sources in position to know tell me that HP’s Android slate has been delayed and won’t ship before the end of the year as planned.”

As every company, manpower is limited and they might be using their recently acquired Palm staff to work on a Windows 7 phone or to tag team their own tablets. With the Dell Streak possibly heading to AT&T and the Samsung Galaxy Tab coming around October, HP will be the last thing on our minds.

I would love to see Alienware come out with an Android tablet. They make such awesome PCs, I could only assume they would make a tablet that would blow others out of the running.

Alienware’s are so expensive. They’re very powerful, yes, but I think the price is much higher than what you actually get. I don’t think it’s necessary to have a powerhouse in a tablet–correct me if i’m wrong, but most people won’t be doing any intense gaming like Crysis or anything on a tablet.
