The big, flowery press events are now over and the meat of CES 2015 has begun today. Our very own Stormy Beach has been up and about on a journey that only be described as “Ringbearer”-esque (Lord of the Rings reference). First up, we have our CES 2015 BRAVEN hands-on where we take a closer look at the BRAVEN BRV-PRO and BRAVEN Balance that were announced a few days ago – check out our photos below:
First up we have the BRV-PRO – for more details, check out our announcement post here. The BRV-PRO is an evolution of the BRV line with utility in mind as it gains a modular dock on its top that can be used to house any number of accessories that BRAVEN has planned for it including extra battery, lights, or even a solar panel. This makes it a pretty impressive camping or outdoor option and really emphasizes the convenience of the BRV line for active and wilderness use. The BRV-PRO isn’t even that expensive, starting at $149.99 USD with each additional module costing between $29.99 and $49.99 USD.
Next up we have the Balance, a speaker for the active lifestyle – see here for announcement post. As you can see, it’s not as rugged as the BRV and not nearly as big. That’s because it’s designed to still have premium audio performance, but be able to be thrown into a backpack at a moment’s notice, whatever activity you’re doing. The Balance will also cost $149.99 USD and will become available in Q2 2015.
Last of all we have a wall full of BRAVEN products including the new BRAVEN 805, also announced this week, but unfortunately we were unable to get a closer look at it than this. Ironically, the BRAVEN 805 is probably the product here that we can recommend the most having reviewed the 800 series before and loved it, and this 805 is just a more colourful version for those who like their interior design and want to keep it consistent. The BRAVEN 805 is on sale later this month for $199.99 USD.
And there you have it. Stay tuned for our coverage of CES 2015.
