If you are rooted then you have probably or are currently, running a CyanogenMod build of Android. Even some of the other ROM’s out there are CM based and offer the theme chooser app built right in. Either way, you could probably use some themes to keep your Android addiction new and fresh. Team Carbon has your back in that category. They have been around for years and have created quite the portfolio of themes for you to choose from. Like these bad boys,

These themes aren’t just built exclusively for CM though. They will work on AOKP, Paranoid Android and any ROM that offers up the Theme Chooser app. That is, all the NextGen themes will. Then you have all the CM 7 themes. Not sure how many people are still running a CM build that old, but there might be some of you out there.

I have perused the 18 pages of themes they offer and see that some of them haven’t been updated with the new $0.99 special price, so you might have to check back on those. This special is running from now through the end of May. That should give you plenty of time to snag up a few at a good price tag. We are sure you have seen Team Carbon floating around the Play Store, various forums and even here on AndroidSPIN a few times. They have a serious number of themes for GO Launcher, CM7 and recently added in CM9 too. The team does a great job of customizing every aspect they can along with updating their themes with changes and new additions. This kind of behavior goes a long way with their followers and customers. It shows too, hitting 1 million active installs is a pretty impressive feat if you ask us. In the mood for a new theme for your CM7 toting Android power house device? We thought some of you might be. Switching focus from MIUI themes for a minute here, we found a slick theme by kwes1020. Many of you might know that name fairly well. He is pretty much all over the place in the Android community. He is pretty popular and prevalent in the community for themes. He has themed out various ROMs in the past, the Precision series to be exact. I never noticed that he put in the time and effort to take that same super cool blue and silver theme and make it compatible with the theme engine. [CM7 Theme] Forget Ice Cream Sandwich. Try Blue Frost

You got to love these blue themes. They give a sense of Honeycomb and of course, Ice Cream Sandwich to our devices. This theme certainly does not differ from the rest. BluFrost is another CM7 Theme that brings an ICS look to your phone. Now anyone that loves the color blue, like I do, will really enjoy this theme. It turns your icons that frosty blue color, as well as turn other elements of your CM7 ROM into a magical blue world. I am really selling this blue theme, aren’t I? Well it is free in the Play Store so why not give it a shot. Normal rules apply of course. Place in your Theme Chooser and apply theme. Enjoy.

[CM7 Theme] TheBluesAbide – Just the right amount of Awesomeness

We have been skimping on our coverage of CM7 themes lately. We have trouble finding a great one that should be shared just as much as you have trouble finding one too use on your own. While there are hundreds of locations to search, we all too often find a similar look built into so many of them. With Ice Cream Sandwich themes being the most sought after, we thought a change-up might be a welcomed things. While searching through RootzWiki this afternoon, we found one from Prash. It might be a little old, as in back in October, but still a great looking theme for your use. And with his introduction to the theme being one of the best we have seen, we had to show you guys.

The quality of the current crop of themes available getting you down? Can’t find the right amount of awesomeness in a single theme? Do you have the sucky theme blues?

Yeah, well that’s just like, your opinion, man.

The theme is a collaboration of TheDude and Prash. Both names many of you should recognize without much explanation. As you can see in the screenshots below, it has a less invasive blue coloring to it. It is very mellow and relaxing while still offering you a wow look to your device.

You will be getting about 600 themed images themed out in the low impact theme. Since the theme hasn’t been updated since November though, you can expect your various Google Play additions to to remained unthemed though. Quite a lot of themes will have that issue for a little while. It is for HDPI devices only, so you will need a higher-end device to take part in the theme goodness. If you aren’t sure what the T-Mobile theme engine or CM7 is, then you shouldn’t attempt to download this.

[CM7 Theme] Blue Bionic is probably one of the Best Blue Themes Out There

Many of you that have read my articles before, know about my undying love for a blue theme. It is just prettier than the traditional Android green which is why I think they decided to go the blue color way with Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich. Maybe not, but it is a theory. Well UpwardSpiral has a pretty good-looking blue CM7 theme for you to try called Blue Bionic.

Screenshots look awesome. They got the darkest blue going on in this theme. UpwardSpiral does not seem to disappoint when it comes to their themes. This theme is free in the Market so download it, slip it into your theme chooser, give it a whirl.

[CM7 Theme] Let’s Bring the Sexy Back with a little iKandee

Who is bored with the regular old boring icons that do not seem to have the detail that they should have? Or at least have multiple colors and a little life added to them? Well here you go my CM7 friends. Here is a CM7 theme that will make your icons pop and bring a little sexy-ness to your home screens.

As you can see with this CM7 theme, everything is pretty detailed when it comes to the icons and even the menus. The tool bar has some life to itas well. It does not have the boring little outlines for the toggles but rather a three-dimensional look with some color. R3Ds Themes has quite a few CM7 themes, but this one is probably the best and of course it is FREE. So check it out, download it, place it into your theme chooser, and fire away. Nothing wrong with a little eye-candy.

[CM7 Theme] Let’s Make Ice Cream Sandwich A Little Darker

Have you looked at the theme of Ice Cream Sandwich and thought, “the blue scheme is just not dark enough for me”. Many of you probably have not…UNTIL NOW. Well if it has crossed your mind or it is now crossing your mine, here is a CM7 theme by ICS theme junky Sonny Sekhon for you to try just to make your ICS theme a little bit darker.

Now first thing I noticed about this theme and what you guys probably noticed as well, is that it now looks more like a Honeycomb theme. It has that purple-blue look to it but to be honest I do not mind it one bit. I love both of the color schemes of ICS and Honeycomb, so if you do as well, try this theme out. Place it into your theme chooser and fire away. It is free on the market, so you got nothing to lose. I guess we could call this theme “Honey Cream Sandwich” or “Ice Comb Sandwich”. Just a thought.

[CM7 Theme] Let’s “Freeze” Your Homescreens

In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the worst Batman movie ever made, “EVERYBODY…CHILL!” Got to be one of the cheesiest lines to ever embrace the cinema, but I am not going to go on a rant about it now. Here is a theme to try out to turn your CM7 into frozen eye-catcher.

This theme is pretty awesome looking. I am a huge fan of the color blue and this theme takes the blue theme and adds a little shine to it. I love the round spherical shaped icons this theme comes with, and just the overall looks of the silver and blue. This theme is free for you to place in your theme chooser to add to your CM7 theme collection. I believe another infamous line Arnold said in that God awful movie was, “CAN YOU BE COLD, BATMAN?”

[CM7 Lock Theme] MIUI Lockscreen

Just by looking at the wallpaper from the image above, I wanted to download this CM7 lock theme. Sad thing is, the wallpaper does not come with the lock theme, and cried just a little because she is HOT. Okay well after I dried the tears rolling down my cheeks and flashed the zip file, I was pretty impressed. Lockscreen definitely has a nice MIUI look to it now.

With this theme, you of course have those options of using the sliding tab, bubbles, the lense, or the rotary. The bubbles looked pretty sweet with the ripples around the and the lense lock style matched the MIUI style completely. The revamped rotary I thought was the best looking style to go with this theme. Something about how the silver bar that goes across the screen is very eye-catching to me. I kept turning my screen off and on just to look at it again and again. So check this theme out for your CM7 lockscreen by clicking the link to the thread below. Make sure you backup just to be on the safe side, and flash away. There is also some custom icons you can add to it for those who want to get to certain apps from your lockscreen. Now I am determined to find out who that girl is in the image above.

[CM7 Theme] Looking for a new twist on ICS? How about three different color Schemes

With news in the Android world a little slow today, you can expect more apps, themes and fun stuff from us then the typical day in the week. We do our best to help keep you interested in AndroidSPIN as well as interested in your device. While cruising through the themes section of XDA I came across a few different ones. With ICS still very much on everyone’s minds, when I saw the work that themer donhu had done, I knew you guys needed to take a look.

He didn’t take the traditional approach to offering up a ICS CM7 theme. He took the basics, like the icons, and then added his own flares to the dialer, settings, timepicker and buttons. He offers up three color variations all with their own unique style to help appeal to a broad audience. The image located at the top of this article is the Celestial Dark ICS theme. My personal favorite of the three. Next is the Celestial Light ICS theme –

And finally, for the ladies amongst us, Celestial Pink ICS theme.

All of them look incredibly well done. He has included all the ICS icons that he could locate to use throughout the theme. He was even kind enough to include icon packs with in each theme so you can use them with your various other launchers from the market. Each theme is built and tested for HDPI devices only for the moment. He is working out some bugs on MDPI devices right now and should support those lower res screens soon. [CM7 Theme] ICE 9 offers a great ICS theme while waiting for CM9

Many of you out there might not be flashing the numerous beta and alpha builds of Ice Cream Sandwich for your device. Even if you are, chances are you headed back to CM7 shortly after due to issues that are still remaining. I know Tony just tried a new build for the myTouch 4G and had to head back in a matter of minutes. That doesn’t stop anyone from wanting at least the illusion of ICS when ever possible.

Taking a look at all the screen shots and information from the theme creator, jasonevil, they sure look good. Everything that is important has been themed to give you the complete look of your favorite summer treat. To make things even better, he has made the theme available to HDPI and MDPI devices. That leaves no one out in the cold wishing they could have this.

There is one known issue with the theme, the text in the Deskclock apk are unreadable due to the image he used. There is a simple fix for it located in the thread.

[CM7 Theme] WinterBread is sure to get your Android device ready for Christmas

Heads up, customization junkies and theme addicts alike. If you’re looking for a way to spruce up your Android phone for the holidays, you should try this CM7 theme from htc(hot-taco-cheese) on the XDA Forums. WinterBread is a Theme Chooser style theme for devices running CyanogenMod. As you can see from the pics below, this little gem is decked out, Saint Nicholas style, from head to toe. It’s designed to work on HDPI, MDPI and LDPI devices, so there’s a lot of room for folks to give it a try.

This theme is the whole enchilada, in terms of how the its integrated into your UI. Your keyboard, call screen, camera, and just about everything else will be rejuvenated with a Christmas experience sent straight from the North Pole after applying it to your device. One of my favorites is the little Frosty the Snowman battery icon and the Christmas tree network signal status icon in the upper right-hand side of the screen, next to the clock. They’re a nice touch that will completely round out your very own Winter Wonderland, right in the comfort of your palm. [CM7 Theme] Vanilla Flavored Ice Cream Sandwich For You

Seems like any developer is looking to add some Ice Cream Sandwich to our devices, and Team Syndicate is wasting no time. They already “WOWED” us with their ICS Launcher they released a little while ago, bringing us just little closer to the tasty treat we are craving. This time around, they are bringing in a CM7 theme that just might tickle your fancy. Not just an ICS theme but a VANILLA stock ICS theme. Who does not like vanilla ice cream?

As you can see, it is pretty little theme. I really like the style of the clock. I am not running CM7 anymore, but would really like to get that clock on my phone. Somewhere out there, a developer will make that happen (please) and then I will be a happy guy. This theme will run you a cheap 1.49, so go ahead and add to the collection of themes you have in your theme chooser folder.

[CM7 Theme] LunarUi Trans offers a colorful alternative look and some much needed Mods

It has been a little minute since we have shared some custom CM7 themes on the SPIN. We got caught up in the Ice Cream Sandwich themes for a little while and then moved on to GO launcher and MIUI. Did you guys think we forgot about you CM7 users? I hope not. Well, I dug up another theme that might just take you away from what ever you are currently running. If not, I am willing to bet you install it anyways and give it a go for a little while.

This theme was created by R3D X and is a rather colorful theme with many elements modified. With some very interesting looking status bar icons that are sure to turn some heads. With some reminiscent looking icons and a very clean looking over all approach.

To top things off, the dev also provided the links to all the relevant XDA threads that you would need to achieve the same look on your device for the elements that the theme can’t change. Like the transparent status bar patch and some of the widgets you see in the screen shots. It is all listed in the description, but to help make your life a little easier, we will post that full description below as well.

Read through the threads on xda. The clock with the weather is mClock and that is a skin I made. Also the miui clock. The transparent stausbar needs a patch be activated as well as the center clock. [CM7 Theme] Flash file for the infamous Ice Cream Sandwich Lockscreen

When I saw this, I wasn’t sure what we should label it as. Technically it is more of a mod than a CM7 theme since it has to be flashed and not installed. At the same time, it gives your lock screen the theme of ICS. Which is a critical component when attempting to theme your device to look as close to your dreams as possible.

The developer, DameonAndMeagan, have even taken a little extra time with this mod to help give you the best experience possible. You have three color choices to clash at your discretion, green, white or blue. Helps give you just a little bit more personalization.

This is a Mod of the CM7.1 Ring Lock that I made using some images from the ICS SDK. I only have tested it on HDPI but it should work on MDPI and LDPI also.

Just flash in recovery and you should be good to go.
Flash at your own risk make a backup before you continue.

Let me know if there is any problems.

You can now choose between Green, White, or Blue pressed Rings.

[CM7 Theme] New version of Ice Cream Sandwich, this time with SDK icons and All

I have been on the hunt for themes over the last couple of days since the SDK went live. I knew that buried inside were the official icons for Ice Cream Sandwich, they always are. I also knew that it wouldn’t take to long for some of our talented themers to snatch them up and give you a taste. Looks like I right of course, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

XDA member sonnysekhon has gone ahead and put his themeing skills to work to bring some of the Ice Cream Sandwich look to your CM7 based devices. He has taken the SDK icons and made them into a very easy on the eyes theme for HDPI devices that sport the Theme Engine. You guys should all know the drill by now, download the apk file, install it like any other 3rd party app, then select it in theme chooser and reboot.

Now if we can get a quality one for MIUI and maybe some of those new live wallpapers we will be well on our way to surviving for another few weeks. Below you will find the standard APK installation app. Sonnysekhon was nice enough to include and ‘extras’ pack as well. It includes the ICS wallpapers, all the icons, the app drawer button and the dock bar. It is a must have to fully complete this theme.

[CM7 Theme] MIUI Blue look on a CM7 ROM

This is sure a nice thing to see. XDA member donhu, has taken one of my favorite MIUI themes and ported it over as a CM7 theme. It is clean, blue and pretty.

So, what do you guys think? If I was still on CM7 this would easily be my next install. There a few extras available on the devs thread. Including support for HDPI and MDPI devices. You can also choose from a transparent or black status bar.

Head on over to Donhu’s XDA Thread to check out some more screen shots and pick up the apk file of your choice. Install it like any other third party application. Locate the theme inside the Theme chooser app and apply. Reboot once to make sure all parts of the theme apply correctly.

[CM7 Theme] SynErgy brings a RootzWiki theme to the Market

If you follow all the latest and greatest works of the developers that fuel the Android eco system, then you know of RootzWiki. To add some fuel to that fire you should also know who BSThemes is. If not, then you have been missing out. The latest release by BSThemes is a SynErgy remake called SynErgy.Wiki. It is a theme that is dedicated to the colors and theme of RootzWiki. It also incorporates an awesome background of their mascot.

Even if RootzWiki isn’t your thing, but green is, you should check this out. The team has themed 1800 different images including system apps and 3rd party applications. A side not to mention, the Beautiful Widgets app has been themed using The Steel beast skin, and the Launcher is ADW Launcher EX and using ThaShag for the ADW Theme.
