Dropbox API

Dropbox announced a couple of new APIs at DBX, their first developer conference. Both APIs are focused on cross-platform support and “storing and syncing app data.”

With the Datastore API, data will be saved across all devices, whether your offline or online. An app’s structured data is kept in sync, regardless of changes made from your computer or smartphone.

The Drop-ins API gives your app the ability to get files from Dropbox, using JavaScript, with Chooser and save files with Saver. The Chooser gives you access to files, without “file browser, authentication, or managing upload and storage,” and Saver brings simple file-saving across all devices.

Dropbox updated their developer guide, and launched Chooser for iOS and Android at the conference as well.
