ScubaStebe’s Recommended Game

This week’s recommended game is Game Dev Story made by Kairosoft. Game Dev Story was really the game that started it all for Kairosoft, who has gone on to make hit after hit. Game Dev Story, and indeed, all of Kairosoft’s games, are simulation management games. This one in particular puts you in control of a start-up games development company, so you need to hire devs, develop games, train your staff, and pick game genres and themes. It might sound simple, but when you put it all together, it becomes additive very quickly. Throw in the pixellated art style and some music and it’s a winner. And also topical as I’m suggesting what games to buy!

Game Dev Story is 40% off this week at $2.50 to celebrate the release of Venture Towns, and while it’s definitely not the cheapest game on the market, it is well worth it. The Play Store link for Game Dev Story is below if you want to pick it up and try your hand at becoming the next EA.

Honourable Mentions: Fieldrunners 2

If you pick something up and like it, or know of a game that’s not on the list of cheap games, let us know in the comments.
