Holock Zooper Lockscreen

Instead of starting with a home screen theme like we normally do, I thought I’d shake things up this week and show you an awesomely-HOLO lockscreen by rabrot. Holock takes a unique approach for the clock, breaking up the hour and minutes.  A slide to unlock is directly above the date, and there is a small circle indicator for battery life on the right. Creator rabrot (Alexander TeÅ¡ić) has over 30 other themes shared on MyColorScreen, all of which are very well made, unique, and feature a simple but functional feel, much like Holock. All of the necessary files and instructions needed to recreate Holock can be found here. Both Zooper Widget Pro ($1.99) and WidgetLocker ($2.99) are also needed, but the theme itself is, of course, free.

Silent Theme

Silent by Dion Rahadian may not be the best option for AMOLED users, with its predominantly white background, but I think it’s just too good to pass up. Icons for the browser, phone dialer, and SMS flow down the center, along with a battery indicator and app drawer access. The time is displayed in red (or blue, which the creator also provides files for here) right above the current date. Weather conditions and temperature are located in the bottom left. It’s available through both MyColorScreen and Buzz Launcher and is composed of just a single large widget. Given that Dion was kind enough to make a blue theme for a user who requested it, so it may be worth it to inquire about a dark theme, for those of you looking to save some battery.

Shapes UCCW

I’ve used Shapes for quite a while now, and felt that I needed to share it, for those not fortunate enough to have stumbled upon it. Shapes comes complete with time, date, battery, temperature, and weather conditions, plus hotspots for missed calls, SMS, and Gmail. Hotspots can be customized to launch your favorite apps, and the text color can also be edited to align more aesthetically with your current theme or background. Developer iWizard has released several other applications, including more unique widgets, icon packs, and skins. He is currently running a special promo of buy five apps, get the sixth free, so now is the time to act if you lust after the majority of his widgets as much as I do. Shapes is available for $1.40 on the Play Store.

Blue Knob UCCW

Need a homescreen to match your fancy new Holock lockscreen? Blue Knob has you covered. A digital clock with a 3D-effect, it may seem simple, and much like other available widgets. However, the ring of led-like lights surrounding it make it pop, yet doesn’t overwhelm. The color of said lights can be customized to an extent. This widget practically leaps out of your display when paired with an all black or dark background. Unfortunately, there are no built-in hotspots for this widget, but the dev says it’s on his to-do list, so check back for an update! You’ll part with a measly $1.72 for this widget.

Half Shade Icon Pack

I’ve been rocking the Half Shade icon pack for the last few days, and I’ve fallen in love. The beveled edges, coupled with the slash of shadow from the center extending to the bottom right corner, are powerfully different from anything else I’ve seen offered. There are currently 328 icons, plus icon masking, so you won’t have that awkward issue of only have 75% of your icons themed to your new pack. Twenty different wallpapers are also included. Half Shade utilizes a very user-friendly interface, with a quick theme apply, wallpaper download, and icon request form. Apex, ADW, Nova, Nova, Holo, Go and Action launchers are all supported. Half Shade can be yours for $1.49 on the Play Store.

Vintage Icon Pack

The Axis icon pack has been getting tons of attention in the last few weeks, but I thought I’d bring attention to one of Stealthychief’s other icon packs. Vintage is composed of over 1,000 icons, and also includes three HD wallpapers. There are also two separate UCCW skins, plus icon masking. The list of officially supported launchers in lengthy, and includes, Apex, Nova, Go, Action, ADW, Next Launcher 3D, TSF Shell, Holo, Unicorn, and Desktop Visualizer. The dev updates the app every Friday, so new icons are sure to continue rolling in, and they are easy to request and keep track of via the theme dashboard, which has a ‘New Icons’ and ‘Request Icons’ tab. Vintage Icon pack can be yours for $1.99.

It’s a huge passion of mine, along with playing tabletop games, making chainmaille jewelry, reading, video games, vaping, anime, hiking, and Ingress (I’m Enlightened, what of it?!). I currently live in Phoenix, AZ, but I’ve been all over the country. I’m in possession of both a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. I take great pride in my grammar. I have 2 cats and I drink a lot of tea. I think that about covers things.
