Droid users have a reason to rejoice! Google has released Google Maps version 3.4.0 into the market with updated pinch to zoom for presumably phones running 2.x+. G1 and MyTouch users can pick up the new version, but have no access to the pinch to zoom and unfortunately still have to rely on hacking to achieve mutlitouch in apps (sorry guys). So get on it Droid users and get some super cool pinch to zoom action on your phones.
