It seem like the people at HTC are being very sneaky with their comments about the Sense UI coming to the MyTouch 3G. As I reported previously, a HTC employee told me that Sense would not be coming to the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. It sounds like that may be true. HTC Slide, however, is another story.
A little birdie told me that someone talked to the VP of T-Mobile and he told them that HTC Sense would not be coming to the MyTouch 3G, but that the MyTouch 3G would be on the receiving end of Slide instead. Slide is the same interface being released on the upcoming T-Mobile MyTouch Slide so this would make sense and allow them to keep the same look and feel across multiple devices.
So this is their way of being able to deny the update rumors. He stated “Look for something around June 10th” which is not too far away. Are you getting excited again, because I am.

The person that released this information isn’t correct about the date… he took what i said out of context. I told him that Sense UI isn’t coming to MyTouch but they are calling it Slide UI. Told him not to unroot till around June 10th and he took that as its coming June 10th. I’m Sorry about this but this person isn’t really good with keeping information. (im not putting him on blast so im not going to say his name but this is what he gets for leaking information).

ThePeterHa @ts0cha0tik T-mo built a specific UI on top of Android for the Slide. It’s not the same as HTC’s Sense UI.

Right on! My G1 broke, so I’m gonna replace it with the MyTouch Slide. I love my G1 but they discontinued it so I couldn’t get a new one. Major bummer for me.
Katie, when you get a Slide, you won’t be bumming anymore. I’ve had one since last Friday. The phone is very, very nice. Keyboard takes a little getting used to, but nothing serious. Camera is amazing, screen is crisp, and the software flat-out rocks.

Why do people keep stating that this is “Sense UI” when the proper name is “Espresso UI”, while it may be a alteration of Sense – they are different things and should be named as such.

slide? sense? just throw us something already….. we have the ability to travel to other planets but we cant put some stupid software into a cellphone? and why couldn’t the original mytouch have had a 3.5 jack? was it that difficult to drill a small hole? geeez

Geez, this dizzying, confusing maelstrom of OS revisions, release dates, and perpertual update rumors is exhausting and frustrating.
Bottom line is this. I have a myTouch 3g. I’m running Android 1.6. I’d sure like to have Android 2.1. Any chance of that happening before the end of the summer? And I know better than to ask about Android 2.2, because it appears the myTouch 3g CPU doesn’t have the horsepower for it

I thought they said at the google i/o that they made 2.2 in thoughts of lower end devices and that’s where the jit compiler comes in?

i still think that the g1 should get a unique update sine the g1 started the while android saga… and with out the g1 there woulnt be no android phone… come on HTC help the g1 out…
