htcclay has released an update to his SuperBadCM5 ROM for the T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile MT3G now at version 1.3G7. This latest release is updated from CyanogenMOD CM5 Test 7 ROM.
I have no idea how htcclay has modified this ROM from the CyanogenMOD base, but it feels like the fastest ROM I have ever run on my G1. Faster than any Donut based ROM i have ever run.

-Based off of CM5 Test 7

-This is the Themed Black Version.
-Removed JIT for this build. Only improvement I saw were linpack scores.
-CC enabled in Spareparts is sufficient as far as I can tell.
-Not sure how swap will act with this. If you like.. add a Userinit to sd and reboot to see.
-Camera preview is now fixed.
-Added Gallery and kept 3D Gallery for the time being…
-Removed Media Gallery from Moto.
-Recent apps can be configured in SpareParts.(Apps open while long pressing the home button.)
-You are able in SpareParts to change system colors.

If i am on Cyanogen’s build and want to use this build, do i just do a wipe then flash this rom?
yep. you could probably get away with just flashing w/o a wipe but if you get errors than wipe before flashing. afaik clay hasn’t started using the 2-part flash like cyan and ben.
“wiping” doesnt delete my spl or anything of the sort, correct? still a bit fuzzy on what wiping actually wipes haha

This is Super Nasty! Just as fast as the latest zxteam donut build. Beware… it does Not like the overclock-update.zip. It gave me a boot cycle that was hard to break. Awesome build though. Hoping the battery issues are all cleared up…….

the time on my task bar are black and arent able to be seen, how can i change the color of the time to white?
If you go to spare parts, scroll to the bottom and you will see some parameters to change font color, etc.

Aviator, you can change that in spare parts. dan, use the kernel by pershoot in that overclock thread over at XDA for cy test 7 and you can overclock up till 576mhz. not as fast as overclock-update.zip but i like the pershoot one better. anything over 576 ends up freezing my phone when the screen is off at some point. runs real smooth. this rom is great, awesome job once more by HTCClay

Hmmm…like the fact I can change the color of notifications. Didn’t really see that much of change in the speed and my messaging still kinda lags when I first open it. Other then that I love it.

Really fast.. i liked cyanogen’s version till this one came out. just need the new swype on ther and i’m golden.

does anyone understand how to flash this? i can flash cyanogen and other roms fine, but for some reason my 32b mt3g just sits on the operator splash screen… can anyone tell me the needed sd partition structure? any help much appreciated

wow…love this one…super fast…infact fastest Rom I’ve used yet full stop.
Just a tip, use this with Launcher 2 instead of normal Home, seems to be a lot faster and I get 5-6 MB extra Ram too.

I may do it today since everybody loves it. I went back to 1.2.3 which is pretty good itself but I’ll give it a shot thanks again Htcclay!

Dang…its fast but like some of the oher updates, this ROM has problem loading widgets. My flip clock stopped and news updates as well. Gonna go back to the revisited one.

@tariq- I’m getting better performance using traditional Home app instead of using launcherpro. Battery issues seem to be gone.

Used this all day, it killed my battery. Had speed problems even with setCPU @ 528 / 384 & 528 / 245 performance. It took forever to load my home. I also did get the weather and toggle widget stop response and a ACORE force close.

I’m getting a set-up loop on Android after flashing (I’m also getting a menu option for “setup” and “default set-up” before set-up)
can anyone recommend to me what I’m doing wrong?

It’s REALLLY FAST!!! I was with Cyanogen 4xxx the last, waiting till cyanogen ends with the ECLAIR but i like this one its pretty fast!!!

i have this rom but it been giving me troubles on my mytouch all it does is foreclose everytime i try to go to the homescreen after i use an app is it this just me are what because i see alot of good comments on this rom…
