I was hooked on Swype ever since I first tried it and ever since then, I’ve been using it as my default keyboard. But there was something missing: the voice input button wasn’t there. Since the benefits of having Swype outweigh the voice input, I ignored it. With over 2,000 votes for voice being an added feature, Swype has listened to the community and now we can see this feature added to the Samsung Galaxy S and the highly anticipated Droid X. Swype is not suggesting that you buy a new device for the voice input feature, but to be patient as it is coming soon.

How many of you use Swype and have been waiting on this feature? Leave your comments below.

I want to use Swype, but it goes back to “not configured for your device” after every reboot, so I’m using the default keyboard now. Until that gets fixed, can’t go back to Swype. Don’t have the patience to reinstall Swype after every reboot. Switching to default keyboard and back to Swype didn’t solve the problem

Swype seriously rocks. It is indeed a killer app on Android. Voice input will add more stars to this product.

Not only am I typing this post using swype but I simply refuse to use another keyboard on my google nexus one. Not even slideit is as smooth and accurate to use. Now with the addition of a mic button swype will forever change the landscape of keyboards on Android devices. Slim and light phones are the future of the mobile industry so Swype only has up to go!

Swype was great, but I flashed my phone twice in 48 hours and after the last one Swype insisted I was using a difference device.
Whatever.
I bought Shapewriter ages ago and I re-installed that. The folks at Shapewriter sent me a version of the app that won’t expire as they have withdrawn it from the Market and i was a paying customer.
Shapewriter will do very well if Swype don’t fit my adventurous ROM-flashing android lifestyle.

SlideIT already has voice recognition.

definitely waiting… where is voice input… it is a hassel to switch input devices.
I love Swype but most of my time available to use my phone is while driving; I’m too busy at work to be on my mobile phone. But I wish I could use my default / favorite (Swype) keyboard without switching back and forth just to use the microphone to text someone!
