According to eWeek, Verizon is about to light up their LTE in 30 markets starting with “NFL cities”  first. Keep in mind that some NFL teams share the same market. Verizon has said today that these markets will be the first to receive their 4G network by the end of 2010. At this time it is unclear in which order these markets will receive Verizon’s 4G coverage, but Verizon is planning on having every other market actively receiving LTE coverage by 2013.

With Sprint’s WiMaX and T-Mobile’s HSPA+ steadily rolling out, we’re curious to see how these carriers plan to amp up coverage once Verizon’s LTE starts rolling out.

Ooh Rah Marine Corps! Having received the EVO 4G at Google IO then coming back to Phoenix to NO 4G (5th largest city in the US I believe) has left a nasty taste in my mouth and I was back to VZW as soon as the free 30 days was over. Looks like that was a good call if LTE hits us before Sprint WiMax :)

Haha Semper Fi! Definitely looks like a good call on the carrier switch. With Verizon and TMO’s new networks it might look like Sprint’s WiMax won’t be able to compete anyway as these two offer better service.
