An update is available via Samsung Kies program that is said to address your faulty GPS and before you download the update, know that T-Mobile has stated not to download the update from Kies and to wait for an official OTA update from them. They posted the following last night on Twitter:

If you haven’t downloaded the update from Kies, we must urge you not to as carriers are not responsible for those trigger-happy individuals. There is no word at the moment which issues T-Mobile is referring to, but we’re not too sure anyone wants to find out either. We’ll keep you guys posted when the official OTA update started hitting devices.
If you have already downloaded the update from Kies, we’re sure T-Mobile or the Android community will have a fix for you soon after the official OTA update.
What issues did the Kies update bring to your device?

No issues seem to have popped up other than a force closed issue when trying to re-root after the update.
The only burden would be having to re-flash to a stock 2.1 JFD when the OTA is available.
Since Samsung doesn’t look like they are going to meet that end of September OTA I know I’m going to get my itchy hands on this update.

I was the 2nd person in the XDA thread to flash the Kies release, and the first to take screenshots, so I’ve had the build for a good while. It’s really no different functionally or performance wise than JI2 or JI4 were. Nothing is really broken (save for 5.1 SRS effects in the video player, which have been broken since JI2), and it performs better than JFD/Stock.
At worst I’ll have to Odin back to JFD to get a proper OTA, but I’m not holding my breath on T-Mobile and their definition of “soon”. They’re four months late on the MT3G as it is.
I did my best to try updating my Vibrant, but nothing worked. Was up until 3 a.m. installing Kies, un-installing Kies (the latest and older version), downloading Samsung drivers, syncing the phone, removing OCLF–nothing worked! My patience is running out waiting for this update and for FROYO and I’m seriously considering using Odin to flash this update. I want to play by the rules, but Samsung and T-Mobile are not making it easy to resist!
Funny….. I didn’t realize that a simple tweet to TMO would have me on so many webites today. Kinda cool.
