I just received my monthly newsletter from HTC today. After reading through the main topics in the newsletter there wans’t much that we all didn’t already now. Further down though, I did find this little nugget of information.
This doesn’t give us a time frame of when the OTA will be available unfortunately. None the less though this does mean that the update is coming. It also looks like they will be adding in there new Wi-Fi calling feature that can be found on the T-Mobile G2 and the newest member, the My Touch 4G.
It is good to know that someone is still working to bring these other devices up to date. I just hope they can integrate the Expresso UI into it well enough to not make this update a complete failure. How many of you out there are still rocking a Slide? You ready for your dose of Froyo love too?

hot damn, it’s about time. well, just in time to be behind again when gingerbread comes out, anyway… I’m using cm6, as well, but as trivial as it seems, I really want my dialer and clock apps back. really don’t know what else espresso had with it, but those 2 are essential. until then, I’ll bear with dialer one and ultimate stopwatch.
hey arphez, get the update to cm6. its a rc but very stable. it updates to cm 6.1 and android version 2.2.1 has everything ur lookin for. find it at xda developers
Still rocking a slide? It just came out 5 months ago. I upgraded with a 2 year contract. I’ve avoided rooting my phone up to this point, so yes I’m very anxious for this update.
for the MT3G,just flash CM6.1,it uses the drivers from the stock froyo update.
Rooted my girls a month after she got it so froyo is old to all us cyanogen custom rom heads, but maybe this will bring more custom roms to the table for the slide there are a few but I would like to see Rodrigues Styles contribute to this device he doesn’t get enough credit his roms are cool to use, and when Gingerbread drops I will port that. And all those who complain about being behind need to root or by highend devices the choice is yours but just don’t complain this is the wrong site for that!!!!

how did you root it? I’ve been trying to figure it out for months but I just don’t have the computer know how to hack it. Is there any easier way than the ones on xda?

Hopefully ill be able to root it after thy update. I rooted mine on 2.1 and then update 1 rolled out. So im screwed now. Cause it has set S-ON. So I’ve got superuser in apps but its useless! Wtf
There’s a root method that’s been out since a few days after that update. S-ON has nothing to do with it.

Any new info please on when the update will be out I heard it should of been done by now but if that is true they forgut my phone wtf I went from a moto cliq to this mytouch 3g slide I love this. Soon after I gut the update for my cliq the damn phone stoped working… praying that won’t happen to my new phone!
I contacted a rep tonight and she says the update be sent ota by month end. We will see.
