Now that Archos has already started shipping the much smaller 43 internet tablet followed by the Archos 70 tablet, it only makes sense that they would follow them up with the Archos 101 tablet which is available now. The Archos 101 Android tablet comes in two versions, you can get the 8GB tablet for $299.99 or the 16GB tablet for $349.99.
Features of the Archos 101 Android tablet include:
- Android 2.1
- 10.1 inch WSVGA 1024×600 display
- HDMI out
- 720p video playback
- Wi-Fi N
- Expandable storage via Micro SD
- Bluetooth
While the Archos 101 tablet ships with only Android 2.1, Archos promises an upgrade to Android 2.2 by the end of the month. The Android Market application does not ship on the device, but we’re sure you can find the application floating around the interwebs. Head over to Archos now to order your 101 tablet and be sure to let us know in the comments what you think.

Uh…..no it’s not….if you look, it says sold out if you go to countries other than the US and Canada….In the US and Canada, you can’t even go to the “Buy It” page…..geeze…..what you should be reporting is that they are shipping in quantities so limited that it’s deplorable….you should be SHAMING them that they can’t get these things in quantities to justify one purchasing them.
the 70 internet tablet (8GB version) was up all night on the store, and finally greyed out around 8am this morning.
I hope we keep seeing nicer Android based tablets coming out.
i agree with marcelo,i wanted one really badly but they always sold out even though they JUST released it.. this is BS,i think they also sent out a limited shipment tho’s bastards..
.. although im still in to get the 70.. the 101 is to big imo,and i want more portable.
non da less these tablets are freakin awesome!
fyi : when Archos announces new stocks … (twitter or facebook pages) … keep in mind that the release is generate from France … at midnight the day of France’s local time … which is 6pm eastern.
