As we’ve seen in all markets the Transformer has been release in so far, it’s there and gone almost as soon as it arrives. It’s easy to see why the netbook-like tablet would cause such a stir , it’s unique while offering the same features as most others at a very reasonable price. However, are the Transformers sales really the reason behind the instant back orders we’re seeing everywhere?
Not to take anything away from the device or the many people that absolutely love (like me), but it seems that initial thoughts of a the product quickly depleting shipments has more to do with the actual amount available. ASUS has announced that instead of the 300,000 units they planned on each month, only 10,000 are actually readily available for purcahse. This is not due to malfunctions of any bad shipments, merely the fact that certain components are in short supply. Comments from ASUS suggest that these shortages will continue until around mid-June, which is when they expect to be back on track.
