All I can say about this announce is, its about time. The most recent update to Honeycomb 3.1 was released today for tablets during Google I/O. According to Google, this update will be rolled out to Google TV users this summer. It will finally allow users to access the android market and be able to unleash the power of their currently struggling Revue.
This will be huge for developers. They will now be able to not only create wonderful applications for tablets, but they will be able to have them cross over to your big screen. We feel this should also enhance your user experience overall. I assume you should be able to access the new services as well, like rented movies and the new Google music beta. Which is more great news.
Google also announced that this update will roll out to all current devices and new hardware is in the works already. Partners such as Sony, Vizio, Samsung, and Logitech will be putting out some new devices with key advancements to make the whole experience better then ever. I wonder if there will be a new motion sensitive remote coming too?
More information should be emerging about the update later tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.

New hardware can’t come soon enough. I will be purchasing 2 TV sets for a new apartment within a month, so it would suck to be limited to Sony’s existing lineup.
