If you have been sitting around and impatiently waiting for your device to get the latest OTA for
2.3 Gingerbread, then your waiting days are almost over. We ran a story last week about
T-Mobile retail stores getting SD cards from
HTC with the latest and greatest software available pre-loaded to offer in store updates. They should already be arriving at the stores, but the official date is said to be Saturday August 6th. Your patience is paying off. I would recommend calling first and making sure they have the update SD cards there and that the line isn’t around the block. Be sure to also have your phone charged up, the update could take approx 30 minutes and you don’t want it to die in the middle of it.

My g2 updated this morning when I turned it on
Lol. So why would they even offer an in store service. I don’t really get this if they are still doing OTAs
because there bored from loosing so many customers, lol
Talked to sum1 from customer service & he told tmobile has no idea about this & theres nothing in his system about it. Also he told me that the gingerbread update that’s being released now is a beta version, the full version won’t be released till october
Because their OTAs don’t all roll out to every phone at once, people have to wait for their update. The in in-store update is for those who don’t want to wait.
