Even though so many devices are still trying to catch up to Gingerbread, it would seem that some new information relayed to BGR could put an Ice Cream Sandwich device in our hands soon. The launch of another OS and device that runs it would no doubt be a huge deal. The rumor of this launch is spurred in conjunction with the launch of the iPhone 5, which should be hitting shelves around the same time. The idea is to catch those users that are at or near they end of their current carrier contracts from jumping the Android ship for the competitors latest and greatest.

If these notions hold true, it could very easily be the next Nexus device, be it the
Nexus 3 or Nexium or what ever it might be called. The real question is are we ready for yet another OS version to be running around? Many devices are still being launched with
Froyo 2.2 and
Gingerbread is just now starting to catch up slowly. Now we may have another one on the horizon?

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

So HoneyComb is tablet only right? Phones are jumping to Ice Cream Sandwich i suppose?
Honeycomb is for Tablets only, yes. Ice Cream Sandwhich is for both. Ice Cream will be rolled out on tablets and phones. It will be built in to scale to any screen size and work for each device, so no more confusing names or jumping a letter ahead for different devices
thats the carriers and phone makers problem and fault for not releasing phones with the most up to date or forgetting about the device and never roll out an update or take a freaking half year to do it. thats bullshit. thank god for rooting! Google just cant sit back and wait for these makers to roll out whatever version they feel like it. Googles gotta do what they gotta do, and hopefully Nexus 3 is an HTC. doubt it thou
