Ready, set, Go! Google’s Android software engineer, Jean-Baptiste Queru has just released the Factory images for the Galaxy Nexus via twitter just recently. Developers now have the official software build to muck with, explore, brick and repeat on the Nexus. Now this news doesn’t mean much to the average Android user on the surface, but it does benefit all of us going forward with future GNex ROM and other over our head Nexus development.
Essentially a Factory image is a true restore file that can be used to reset a bricked Galaxy Nexus, ask a Developer how often a brick happens during development. This will make resetting and starting again a breeze.
Jean-Baptiste Queru:
More things will follow later, but since I know that some people will
be looking under the hood of their shiny new Galaxy Nexus this’ll
immediately avoid situations where overly enthusiastic users get stuck
in a bad state.Happy tinkering!

This is only going to speed up the nexus development, so all you new Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners can do a little happy dance.
