If you own a Motorola Xoom, they day you’ve waited for has finally arrived. The official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Xoom is now available for the taking, which will kick the tablet up from Android 3.2 to Android 4.0, the latest flavor of the mobile OS which took the world by storm following its announcement back in October of 2011. I guess Motorola must have decided it was time to play catch-up, considering Asus beat them to the bunch by releasing ICS for the Transformer Prime last week.
At the time of this posting, it seems only the American WiFi device is receiving the update, though word on the street has it the international and 3G/4G models are seemingly close behind. Seeing as we don’t have a WiFi-only Xoom to verify this information, make sure to let us know if you have one and you’ve already managed to snag the OTA. Also, make sure to let us know how it’s running for you — any issues, or is it smooth sailing?
While most of the Internet is practically shut down today, we’ll still be here digging for goods. If you get bored, you know where to find us.

I loaded the latest update to my wifi xoom, and now my xoom will not power on, anyone have any advice?
Installed update – installed and works like a charm. It says – Android 4.03.
Just 1) make sure you have a battery lasting for at least 15 minutes or connect the charger; 2) don’t touch the tablet while it’s upgrading and setting applications.
1st check – USB storage still doesn’t work – memory stick is not accessible!
Have a WiFi only Xoom. Just go the latest Android load last night. Super cool. But, now web pages that worked in the past no longer function. For example Yahoo Chess does not load any longer. Just see what looks like a little blue lego block with a ? mark in it. The update is affecting other web pages as well. How can I fix the problem or roll back to the Honeycomb version?
Sounds more like a flash issue.. Have you installed Flash player or updated it recently?
I have the same issue but it works fine now afterIi uninstalled flash and re installing it again, try it, mine works fine now..
I got the update, and now whenever my tablet goes into standby over night, it won’t come out until I run the battery down and reboot 2 days later (battery lasts a looong time on standby). I’ve formatted the device and confirmed it occurs with only stock apps installed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UPDATE IF YOU WANT A FUNCTIONAL DEVICE!
