For many, you are about 10 days from snagging your shiny new Samsung Galaxy S III device. I am sure many of you have countdowns on your current device or even scheduled alarms on your calendar. I know I do. Since the official announcement as to carrier availability and pre-ordering options, we have discovered all sort of things that we never expected. For instance, we know that for what ever reason, the Verizon and AT&T SGSIII won’t get the 50GB Dropbox promotion. Not a deal breaker, but still a little annoying. Now there is some new info in from Samsung that will add a little more annoyance to your life.

The ability to use a MHL adapter to connect your device to the HDMI input port on your TV needs to be upgraded. Apparently the pin configuration on the new SGSIII is not the same as its predecessors. So that fancy MHL adapter that you may have purchased for your Galaxy S II or even your Note, won’t work with your new S III. Again, not a huge deal breaker for many since the need for this isn’t in as high of demand and the device its self.

The new Samsung branded MHL adapter will set you back between $30 and $40 bucks. Putting another little divot in your wallet if have the need to connect your device to the TV. To make things a little more annoying, there are reports of it not working so well with 720p displays. You might need to upgrade that TV of yours too. If you are going to do that though, you may as well spring for a TV with DNLA support so you can just stream from your phone and then you won’t even need this little adapter at all.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
