Sony has a new tablet offering in the works that they aim to market as part of the Xperia branding. The new Xperia tablet will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Sony Tablet S
, and feature a few pretty nice improvements. You’ll find a Tegra 3 quad-core processor tucked away inside, run Android 4.0 “or later”, offer 3 storage option (16GB, 32GB or 64GB), a 6,000mAh battery and a splash proof aluminum shell.
The slides also depict an accessory for the tablet, the SGPSK1. Which is an ultra slim style fol cover keyboard that protects the device and offers a convenient stand while typing. While another slide shows off a Docking stand that raises the tablet off the surface for watching movies and such. Kind of reminds me of the iOMount we have sitting right here, with the exception of this one being a docking stand.
All-in-all it doesn’t look to terrible. We can all hope that when it does finally launch that they choose to go with the “or later” portion of the Android OS, being Jelly Bean of course. Pricing is tentative but pegged at $449.99 for the 16GB, $549.99 for the 32GB and $649.99 for the 64GB.
