Apple CEO Tim Cook Apologizes for Apple Maps Debacle. Suggests Using Google Maps

Mama bird decided to push baby over the cliff long before it knew how to use its wings in Apple’s case. Now we have all been laughing and pointing fingers at iOS 6 users as of late, when we heard about all the bugs that plagued the new iOS. The big debacle of course being the numerous bugs that inhabit the new Apple Maps app. Like a good CEO should, Tim Cook wrote a letter to his customers on Apple.com apologizing for all that has happened.

In the letter, Cook addresses how in the first iOS, they had Apple Maps as means for finding locations. As the technology grew, turn-by-turn navigation and voice controls were in demand, so Apple went a different route. Then of course Apple being Apple, they decided they wanted to stir away from the “other guys” apps, and bring back their very own maps. They held their heads up high, and felt more closed off to the tech world. Of course they fell flat on their faces. iOS 6 has become a laughing stock, and Apple went into a frnezy.

Cook also mentions to iOS 6 users, to use apps for your mapping needs such as Google Maps, Bing, Mapquest, etc. I am sure it was very difficult for him to menton “Google Maps” since Apple tried their best to compete with the highly appreciated map app. Go ahead and click the link below to read the letter in its entirety. Feel free to poke fun all you want, and let us know your thoughts.
