Droid Bionic ICS update rolling out, might not install for Everyone

2

Looks like the Ice Cream Sandwich update is rolling out slowly for those who are still sporting a Motorola Droid Bionic. The build number is approved as 6.7.246 and will jump your Bionic up to ICS 4.0.4. The update is rolling out in the traditional OTA style of delivery system. It brings a bit more of a stock Android-ish appeal to it and all the goodies you would expect in ICS like swipe notifications, quick folders and a new lockscreen. It offers up a slew of new improvements and enhancements that any Bionic owner will welcome. The file size is 368MB, so make sure you have plenty of space available before you get started.

Be on the look out for the OTA to hit your notification bar. If you are a bit impatient you can try to prompt it through Settings>About phone>System updates. It doesn’t always work, but never hurts to try.

On to a tip though. If you give the update a shot and it fails then you will want to go do a factory reset on your device and install again. That is coming from a  few people in the AndroidCentral forums who have had some issues getting the update to install. Good luck and we hope this update is a smooth process that renews your love for your device, Motorola and Android.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
