Those of you holding on to a Galaxy S III might want to prepare yourselves for an update. SamMobile just teased the absolute crap out of us right now, by posting to anyone with a Samsung flagship to backup your files and prepare for an update. They also hashtagged this post with Earl’s Court, which is where a Samsung event is going to take place this Thursday, in London. Samsung should be unveiling the Galaxy S4 Active, as well as ATIV at this event, but there is possibly an Android 4.2.2 test update might be unleashed as well. Sadly, this might only be for the international version of the S3. Also, we have the Galaxy Note II to contend to, so maybe there will be some sort of update for the phablet as well.

Now when I came across this tease, I almost thought Android 4.3. Snapping to conclusions is probably what happened there, and I forgot that Android 4.2.2 has not made it onto the S3 yet. So your guess is as good as mine about this, but we will definitely make sure to keep you guys posted if this is true.

We’ve been wondering for awhile now what phones would have the frankly ballistic Snapdragon 800 processor. We know it’s going to be fast because Qualcomm has repeated reminded us that it can do things like play 4K resolution videos. Well today, LG and Qualcomm jointly announced that LG’s next flagship smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 800.

Stopping short of actually giving it a name, or really detailing anything about the phone, LG deferred to Qualcomm to remind us of the performance afforded with the Snapdragon 800 such as 75% greater performance when compared to the pedestrian predecessor, the Snapdragon S4 and still managing to decrease battery usage.

We actually got a chance to see the Snapdragon 800 in action at E3, but we’ll tell you more about that later. If the Optimus G Pro and Nexus 4 are anything to go by, this next LG flagship could be a winner. Who would be interested in this new LG flagship phone? Let us know what you think about it in the comments.

Watch Dogs has been getting lots of good press lately with its cool, topical take on cybersecurity and data. And like many other next-gen games coming to consoles in the near future, Watch Dogs will have a companion app called Watch Dogs Live that will help extend the game in some shape or form.

Today, the app went live for iOS in Canada in what looks like a beta test in preparation for Ubisoft‘s worldwide roll out. The premise of the game is to reach certain locations defined by the app and to ‘hack’ that location to gain data. Doing so will give you points, which in turn get accumulated on the leaderboard, and if you are at the top of the leaderboard when the game comes to an end, you will be the lucky winner of a Watch Dogs-themed Scion. That’s right: a car. There will also be weekly missions and other prizes for you to win.

It’s kind of a game-ified Foursquare, and hacking more locations will net you in-game resources to upgrade your hacking skills. It’s a pretty cool concept which is becoming a lot more prevalent these days with more mobile-centric marketing.

There hasn’t been a date set for the app’s release on Android and iOS, but it looks worth a look whenever the Canadian trial ends. Who would give Watch Dogs Live a try? Let us know in the comments.

Minuum Keyboard is now finally upon us, and if you donated some change to the fundraiser to get it out there, then you probably have already been beta testing it. Minuum Keyboard is out to change the way that we type on our devices, but can people get use to it?

When first opening Minuum, you are met with a quick setup option. I like this about the app, because it allows you to activate it in your language and input menu, and set it as your device’s default keyboard. You then can go to the tutorial portion of the app, where you can practice your typing. There are 4 different instructions they give you on this page, so you can get a real feel for the keyboard before you start really using it to send sweet nothing’s to your significant other.

Some people were complaining about the swiping to the right for the spacebar. Luckily they have made in option where you can have a spacebar, which will make some people’s lives a little easier. Swiping to the left will allow you to delete the word you have typed, and if you swipe up to either the left or right, you are met with a settings button, as well as the enter button. You have the option like other keyboards to have it learn your words, import the Android dictionary, and to have a haptic feedback. No sound effects though. Not sure why they did not incorporate that feature.

Overall, Minuum Keyboard is definitely different. Even with its QWERTY layout, I still found it hard to type with. Most likely this is due to my phone’s 4.3 inch screen, and I can imagine using this keyboard on a tablet would be a lot better. So check out my run through in the video below. Also let us know how you guys are liking it.

We have all been there guys. You get out of the car with your phone in your lap and it decides to go all Man of Steel on you and fly. It’s like this slow motion dramatic moment as you scream, “Noooooo!!!” Plus, add insult to injury, it’s raining hard outside. So in about 10 seconds we have a cracked screen with major water damage. Well, AT&T and NEC plan to change that with the upcoming NEC Terrain.

This phone has some stuff going for it for the more accident prone consumer. It meets military grade specifications (MIL-810G) for water, dust and shock resistance. Plus, if you need something more, it features Enhanced Push-To-Talk for better instant messaging.

Outside of that, the phone is fully 4G LTE Capable, equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass, and with access to AT&T’s 32,000+ publically accessible WiFi hotspots, can be as connected as you want it to be. Other features include:

· The dedicated Enhanced PTT key means immediate communication when it counts most without cumbersome menus or the need to change applications.

· Speedy 4G LTE connectivity makes it simple to pull up plans, records or email from virtually anywhere.

· Wi-Fi availability giving U.S.-based customers improved in-building coverage and access to the service via compatible Wi-Fi networks.

· A dual core 1.5GHz QualComm® Snapdragon S4 processor and Android 4.0 makes multitasking simple and easy.

· earSmart™ technology by Audience and NEC Terrain’s dual speakers ensure communication is heard loud and clear with echo cancellation and noise suppression.

· Physical QWERTY keyboard with a 3.1” high resolution screen places a virtual office in your hand when you’re on the job or just on the move.

· 5 MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front camera.

· Up to 8GB of internal memory and MicroSD up to 32GB of expandable memory for ample file and photo storage.

The goal of this phone was to essentially revolutionize the work world. While I have never been in this situation, I’m sure that companies investing in tens of thousands to supply their employees with iPhones and crappy Blackberry’s with no guarantee of it lasting gets pretty old. The goal of this phone is to house a phone for rock climbers, construction workers, white collar employees and entrepreneurs under the same roof. Based on the photo above, it’s running Android 4.0 at least.

The final crown that this device boasts is it’s $99 price tag. While I would not use this phone preferably, when I see phones like this appear on the market, they run at $200 easy. So if you are looking for a top notch device with a good price tag, look no further.

Would you consider this phone? It comes out June 21 so you have some time to decide, let us know in the comments below.

Samsung has been long attached to be the first ones to tackle flexible OLED displays, and they even showed the YUOM display back at CES. Since then, Samsung has been running into production problems with these displays, and it seems that another OEM is going to beat them to the punch.

LG plans on launching flexible OLED displays by the end of the year, which Samsung was planning to as well, but problems have arose. The YUOM displays are still going to be rigid, shatter proof, and maybe a slight bend to it, but nothing too extraordinary. They were hoping to get those out by the end of the year, but they are having some internal struggles similar to their Exynos 5 problems. So it looks like LG is going to have a leg up on the competition with their displays, but I wonder just how flexible they will be. My guess is that they will be similar to the YUOM display, and not fully on bendable displays like we have seen in mock up videos. Let us know what you guys think.

Looks like Twitter decided to not play nice once again, to developer Joaquim Verges and his baby, Falcon Pro. This happened a few months ago when Falcon Pro hit the 100K tokens, and was unable to have new users join the Falcon fun. Since then, Verges has been working hard to workaround that dumb guideline, but that work has come to an end, and he had to lift his app off the Play Store.

If any of you out there are on version 2.0.3, and cannot sign in, Verges has provided us with an apk of 2.0.2 that you can grab and use. Hopefully you had a token before this new 100k mark was reached, or you will still not be able to login. So hit the link below to grab the apk of 2.0.2. Let us know if it is working for you.

Unfortunately, it’s a false alarm as the update is only 17.55MB, tagged as “System Enhancements.

Naturally this means your HTC One will stay at Android 4.1.2 and leave us hanging once again. The roll out is happening on developer edition HTC Ones now, so if any of you are lucky enough to have it, let us know if you notice anything different after its updated.

Well, HTC has just unveiled that Butterfly S at their launch event in Taiwan, showing off some impressive specs.

Engadget reports that the HTC Butterfly S will house a quad-core Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.9GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with additional microSD slot and a 3,200 mAh battery. For the record, that is bigger than a Galaxy Note 2 battery. Along with the nice innards, the Butterfly S will feature a 5-inch, 1080p screen, and the HTC staples of Sense 5.0, UltraPixel camera and BoomSound Beats speakers.

A pretty impressive package, making it ever so more attractive than the HTC One. Unless of course you like the feel of aluminium. The Butterfly S is due out in Taiwan in July for the nippy price of around $750 USD, but as always with phones in this region, it’s unknown if they’ll make the jump worldwide.

Would you think about a HTC Butterfly S, even so far as picking it over the HTC One? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
