The Moto X Phone’s Touchless Voice Commands are now made (kind of) possible to any device running Android 4.1 and up. Open Mic+ turns your phone’s listen mode on just waiting for the hot word or words to be belted out. It is in beta at the moment, so do not expect a perfect app.

Open Mic+ is very simple to use. Open the app up, hit the start button, and your phone is ready for you to say the magic words. There is already a default command, but if you would like to change it, they give you that option in the settings. There is also a function to have it on when your screen is off, but of course that might suck up precious battery life, and it is quite buggy. When the screen is on though, the app works pretty well. You just might have to say the command a couple times.

There is also a wave function that I could not really get to work, so your guess is as good as mine on how that function will present itself. Open Mic+ is free in the Play Store, so I say give it a whirl. If you were excited about Touchless Voice Commands on the Moto X, then this is the app for you. Let us know how you like it.
